What is OMATHO?

OMATHO is the abbreviated name of the Office Malien du Tourisme et de l'Hôtellerie. In other words, it is the official Malian government tourism bureau. OMATHO is one-half of the Ministry of Artisanat and Tourism currently managed by the honorable Minister N'Diaye Bah.
OMATHO has offices located in every regional capital of Mali as well as in Bamako and two sub-regional bureaus in Sangha (Dogon Country) and Djenné. OMATHO is directed nationally by Mr. Oumar Balla Touré. The assistant national director is Mr. Moussa Diallo. Both Mr. Touré and Mr. Diallo work at the OMATHO headquarters in Bamako.
Each OMATHO regional office has a bureau chief that directs all OMATHO affairs locally. They are your best official sources of information on tourism questions or if you happen to run into any problems during your trip.
