Sample Circuits: Titi has developed circuits for the adventure traveler which explore remote regions by 4x4 and on foot and which introduce the traveler to the Songhaï and Tuareg cultures.
Journey from Gao to Adrar des Iforas in 4x4
1st Day: Djebok animal market. Every Monday you can ride a camel at the livestock market.
2nd Day: Leave for Almoustrate. Sleep at Anafis.
3rd Day: Leave for Kidal, where a rich artisanal tradition is well-known for its manufacture of swords and other weapons.
4th – 5th Days: Leave for Adrar des Iforas. Here petroglyphs, 5,000 – 6,500 years old, attest to an ancient human civilization in the region.
5th – 6th Days: Leave for Bourem: Valley of Tilemsi. The river that waters the prehistoric Saharan plain, a region which has turned up many fossils.
7th Day: Visit Gao, the City of the Askias. Visit the Musée du Sahel, the Tomb of the Askias, the Artisana and the three markets.
Trekking around Gao
1st Day: Djebok animal market. Every Monday you can ride a camel at the livestock market.
2nd Jour: Weekly market at Wabaria. Every Tuesday Tuareg nomads and Songhaï meet at the riverside.
3rd Day: Visit Tacharan, where there is a large market in the middle of the village. Visit the women's garden and the hippopotamuses in the river.
4th Day: Visit the Dune Rose.
5th Day: Visit the three marlets of Gao: the vegetable market, the fish market, and the Marché Washington.
6th Day: Visit the Tomb of the Askias, the Musée du Sahel and the Artisana.
7th Day: Visit Sanèye, the ancient site of Gao.
Tranquil Journey
1st Day: Day in Gao: Visit the Tomb of the Askias, the Musée du Sahel, the Sanèye archaeological site, the Dune Rose of Koima, the vegetable market and the Marche Washington, and the pirogue docks.
2nd Day: Marche de Wabaria: Every Tuesday you can visit this lively animal market.
3rd Day: Visit to Tasharan. Every Wednesday you can visit the market as well as the women's gardens and the hippopotamuses in the river.
4th Day: Every Thursday you can visit the Ansongo market and the Tobon caves.
5th Day: Visit the village of Tondi Tihiyo.
6th Day: Visit the villages of Bentiya.
7th Day: Leave Bentiya in 4x4 to return to Gao.
