Other: Mohamed owns a pirogue that can be rented for trips to the Dune

Gao Region Adventure Circuit
Day 1 - Visit the Tombs of the Askias, the Museum of the Sahel,
the Archeological site of Sanèye, the Pink Dunes, and the markets of Gao
Day 2 - Visit the animal market of Wabaria followed by a boat trip to
see the market of Tasharan and also the hippos of Tasharan
Day 3 - Visit the gardens of Gao on the banks of the Niger
Day 4 - Visit the market of Ansongo and the Tobon caves
Day 5 - Travel to the bush to visit the village of Tondi Tiho
Day 6 - Continue to the the village of Bentia
Day 7 - Return to Gao by 4x4
Gao & Hombori & Niger River Adventure Circuit
Day 1 - Travel from Gao to Hombori - explore the rocky town of Hombori in the late afternoon
Day 2 & 3 - Hike in the bush outside of Hombori
Day 4 - Return towards Hombori spending the day walking around the majestic
Hand of Fatima rock formations. View the sunset from nearby dunes
Day 5 - Head back towards Gao arriving at the Pink Dune in the afternoon.
Climb the Pink Dunes and spend the night sleeping on the dunes.
Day 6 - Visit several villages on the river by foot and then take a pirogue
ride to the other side of the river for the night
Day 7 - Pirogue ride back to Gao. Visit Gao sites including the Tomb
of the Askias and Museum of the Sahel.
Gao & Niger River Adventure Circuit #1
Day 1 - Travel from Gao to Bourem by 4x4. Visit phosphate deposits
and ancient colonial homes in Bourem.
Day 2 - Visit the villages of Temera and Bamba. Sleep under the stars
on pure sand dunes near the river.
Day 3 - Boat ride down the Niger. Visit and then stay in the village
of Maza.
Day 4 - Boat ride down the Niger. Visit and then stay in the village
of Tondibi - site of the ancient battle between the Songhaï Empire and
invading Moroccans.
Day 5 - Boat ride down the Niger until reaching the Dune Rose. Visit
the Pink Dunes and the villages nearby.
Day 6 - Boat ride down to see the hippos of Tasharan. Spend the night
in the village of Goura
Day 7 - Arrive in Gao by boat. Visit Gao sites including the Tomb of
the Askias and Museum of the Sahel.
Gao & Niger River Adventure Circuit #2
Day 1 - Visit the sites of Gao, including Gao's markets, the Tomb of the Askias, the Pink Dune, the Museum of the Sahel, and the Maison des Artisans.
Day 2 - Travel to Bagnadji the home of fishermen descended from the original
Sorko inhabitants of Gao
Day 3 - Travel to Tondibi where the Moroccans and Songhaïs fought the
decisive battle in 1591 that sealed the fate of the Songhaï Empire
Day 4 - Visit and spend the night in the village of Dadji with its
delightful women's gardens
Day 5 - Visit and spend the night in Bourem with dramatic colonial
buildings as well as phosphate deposits and an ancient military fort
Day 6 - Visit Dagn'a, where Askia Mohamed defeated Sonni Bouron
in 1493, and spend the night on the dunes under a multitude of stars
Day 7 - Return to Gao for departure
